Zhou Hongyi, the founder of 360 Security Group, recently shared a Weibo video in which he delved into the implications of the Doubao mobile assistant. He pointed out that while ByteDance, the parent company of Doubao, doesn't directly produce mobile phones, the Doubao mobile assistant has the potential to revolutionize phone operations. It enables users to accomplish tasks seamlessly without the need to manually click on individual apps. This innovative approach is poised to overhaul the conventional traffic logic that has long been the bedrock of major internet companies, potentially causing it to crumble.
It is foreseeable that a technological offensive and defensive struggle will ensue. Major apps are expected to make strategic adjustments, such as revamping their page structures and implementing other measures to curb the influence of AI. E-commerce apps, in particular, might restrict third-party service calls to maintain their competitive edge. Furthermore, there's a possibility that major companies could form alliances and forge joint defense agreements to safeguard their interests.
On the other hand, mobile phone manufacturers are unlikely to yield desktop control without a fight. They may impose restrictions on the operation of Doubao while simultaneously introducing their own mobile assistants to vie for market share. It's conceivable that next year's new mobile phones will come pre-loaded with assistants developed in-house by the manufacturers themselves, marking a new era in mobile phone technology.
