Tsinghua University has unveiled the "Guidelines for the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Education at Tsinghua University," aiming to standardize the utilization of artificial intelligence on campus. These guidelines are segmented into three key parts: "General Provisions," "Teaching," and "Thesis and Practical Achievements." They advocate for an "enthusiastic yet cautious" stance and put forward five fundamental principles. The guidelines stress that artificial intelligence should merely act as a supplementary aid. They categorically forbid the presentation of AI-generated content as academic achievements and prohibit ghostwriting or plagiarism in any form. The university actively encourages both faculty and students to delve into AI-assisted learning, as long as they strictly follow well-defined usage protocols. Moreover, this guidance framework will undergo regular updates in tandem with technological progress.
