On November 26, a coalition of six departments, spearheaded by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly unveiled the Implementation Plan for Enhancing the Harmonization of Consumer Goods Supply and Demand to Further Bolster Consumption. This strategic blueprint advocates for the structured and sustainable development of platform-based consumption, encompassing innovative business paradigms such as live-streaming e-commerce, instant retail, curated retail, and circular e-commerce. It encourages platform enterprises to harness artificial intelligence technologies in a lawful and compliant manner, with the aim of deeply understanding user preferences and delivering tailored products and services with precision.

Simultaneously, the plan champions the utilization of cutting-edge digital and intelligent technologies, including virtual reality, metaverse, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, by platform enterprises. These technologies are envisioned to craft multi-faceted, immersive consumption experiences that captivate consumers. Moreover, the plan guides platform enterprises to engage in brand and quality enhancement initiatives, thereby stimulating consumer demand and fostering a vibrant consumption ecosystem.

In tandem with these efforts, the plan underscores the reinforcement of platform enterprises' primary responsibilities. It emphasizes the need for stringent review of operator qualifications and product information, ensuring transparency and trustworthiness. Additionally, it advocates for the refinement of rapid resolution mechanisms for consumer disputes, thereby safeguarding consumer rights and promoting a fair and just marketplace.
