On November 13, news emerged that the large-scale model of the "Mercedes-Benz Virtual Assistant," developed by Mercedes-Benz (China) Automotive Sales Co., Ltd. and recommended for registration by Beijing, had successfully cleared the approval process from multiple national departments, including the Cyberspace Administration of China. This model marks the inaugural batch of large-scale AI products crafted by overseas enterprises in China and stands as Beijing's first such model to receive launch approval. As of November 11, a total of 163 generative artificial intelligence large-scale models in Beijing have successfully navigated the national registration process and commenced operations.
Harnessing the AI generative prowess of Douyin's (the Chinese counterpart of TikTok) "Lark" large-scale model, the "Mercedes-Benz Virtual Assistant" large-scale model offers an array of services. These include voice interaction, intelligent navigation, and in-cabin control, specifically tailored for Mercedes-Benz's newly unveiled all-electric CLA model. Anticipations are high, with projections indicating that it will cater to 70,000 vehicles annually by 2026.
