Oscar-winning actors Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine have each entered into partnership agreements with ElevenLabs, an artificial intelligence voice technology company. Through this collaboration, ElevenLabs will create AI-generated simulations of their voices, a step designed to tackle "significant ethical dilemmas" that arise in the intersection of the AI sector and Hollywood. McConaughey has not only been working with ElevenLabs but has also been an investor since 2022. The latest deal enables him to transform his newsletters into Spanish-language audio formats. ElevenLabs has recently unveiled its "Iconic Voices Marketplace," and following Caine's agreement, his voice has been added to this platform. The marketplace also showcases the vocal talents of several late Hollywood icons, current celebrities, and historical personalities. ElevenLabs was recently appraised at around $6.6 billion. This marks another instance of celebrities joining forces with AI firms; earlier, Meta inked voice licensing deals with a number of prominent individuals, and several stars have also made investments in AI ventures.
