The Henan Provincial Development and Reform Commission has recently released a notice, officially kicking off the application process for the 2025 Ecological Development Project for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Industry in Henan Province. Aligned with the national 'AI Plus' initiative, this project zeroes in on key domains such as science and technology, industrial advancement, and people's well-being.

In terms of enhancing core capabilities, the project puts significant emphasis on bolstering model development, ensuring a robust computing power supply, providing comprehensive corpus services, and fostering the cultivation of diverse scenarios. Its overarching goal is to facilitate the widespread integration of AI across various industries, thereby driving innovation and efficiency.

The project encompasses four distinct categories of initiatives. Firstly, there are large-scale model development and application projects, which include both registered large-scale models and independently developed industry-specific large-scale models. Secondly, high-quality corpus projects aim to enrich the data resources available for AI training and development. Thirdly, major application scenario benchmark projects are designed to identify and support exemplary AI applications that can serve as models for the industry. Lastly, evaluation projects for AI industry empowerment centers focus on assessing and enhancing the capabilities of centers dedicated to promoting AI adoption and development.

Among these categories, the major application scenario benchmark projects stand out for their substantial financial support. Specifically, for benchmark projects that demonstrate significant industry influence, the project offers one-time financial assistance of up to 2 million yuan. This support is capped at 30% of the actual investment in the project, ensuring that the funding is both substantial and targeted towards projects with the potential to drive industry-wide change.
