Three insiders have disclosed that C3.ai, a provider of artificial intelligence software, is exploring the possibility of a sale or other strategic options. This move comes after the resignation of its founder, Thomas Siebel, from the position of CEO due to health concerns. C3.ai specializes in offering development and operational services for large-scale AI application platforms, catering to clients such as Shell and the U.S. Air Force. Its tools enjoy widespread adoption across the U.S. government, energy, manufacturing, and other industries. Faced with sluggish financial results and uncertainties surrounding its strategy and leadership, the company's stock has plummeted by over 54% since the beginning of the year. Moreover, during its earnings announcement on September 3, C3.ai withdrew its full-year financial forecast. On September 1, Stephen Ehikian, a seasoned executive from Salesforce, took over as CEO, succeeding Siebel.
