At the 2025 Wuzhen Summit of the World Internet Conference, the Blue Books of the China Internet Development Report 2025 and the World Internet Development Report 2025 were formally launched. This marks the ninth straight year of their global release since 2017. According to the reports, by June 2025, the number of fixed broadband access users in China had soared to 684 million. The country had also expanded its 5G infrastructure significantly, with the number of 5G base stations rising to 4.55 million and 5G mobile phone users reaching 1.118 billion. China has emerged as the world's largest holder of artificial intelligence patents, boasting an impressive 60% share. Moreover, it leads globally with around 40.3% of all 6G patent applications. Additionally, China has retained its status as the world's largest online retail market for twelve consecutive years.
