On the 4th, South Korean President Lee Jae - myung elaborated on the 2026 budget plan at the National Assembly. During his speech, he repeatedly underscored the imperative of developing the artificial intelligence (AI) sector. He disclosed that South Korea's budget allocated to AI - related initiatives for 2026 is projected to reach 10.1 trillion won. This marks a more than three - fold increase compared to the 3.3 trillion won budget set for 2025.

Specifically, 2.6 trillion won of this budget will be earmarked for the integration of AI across diverse fields. Meanwhile, 7.5 trillion won will be dedicated to nurturing talent and constructing the necessary infrastructure for AI development.
