The South Korean government is advancing a national AI data center project worth 2 trillion won (approximately $1.4 billion). Samsung Electronics has joined the sole bidding consortium, collaborating with Samsung C&T and Samsung SDS to showcase its data center construction capabilities through a 'one team' strategy. The consortium also includes companies such as Kakao, KT, and Naver Cloud, with private sector stakes expected to exceed 70%. The project plans to deploy 15,000 GPUs by 2028 and over 50,000 GPUs by 2030.
