Arm and Meta have embarked on a multi-year strategic partnership, with the goal of combining their hardware and software expertise to boost full-stack AI computing efficiency and facilitate widespread AI adoption. This collaboration centers on two key areas: hardware and software. In the hardware realm, Meta's AI ranking and recommendation systems will be powered by data center platforms built on the Arm Neoverse architecture. On the software front, both parties will work hand in hand to optimize open-source components and harness Arm's Kleidi AI technology to enhance performance per watt. The optimization outcomes have been nothing short of remarkable. Take, for example, the Meta Llama 3.2 model; when running on this optimized setup, its prompt processing speed has soared fivefold. And in a spirit of open collaboration, these improvements will be shared back with the open-source community. The CEO of Arm emphasized that this partnership is geared towards shaping the next era of AI with a focus on energy efficiency. Looking ahead, it is projected that by 2025, more than 100 billion devices based on the Arm architecture will be equipped with AI capabilities.
