Microsoft has unveiled plans to significantly expand its artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure collaboration with Nscale. The tech giant intends to deploy approximately 200,000 NVIDIA GPUs across data centers in Europe and the United States. This partnership stands as one of the most substantial initiatives in the AI infrastructure landscape, underscoring Microsoft's strategic dedication to bolstering AI computing capabilities. This will be achieved through alliances with Dell Technologies and the Nscale-Aker ASA joint venture.

In a major financial commitment, Microsoft has earmarked $30 billion for investment in the United Kingdom from 2025 to 2028. Out of this total, $15 billion will be channeled into a joint venture with Nscale to construct a state-of-the-art supercomputer. This supercomputer will be outfitted with over 23,000 NVIDIA GPUs. The remaining funds will be utilized to sustain operations and support a workforce of 6,000 employees.

Furthermore, Microsoft has inked a five-year deal with Nscale and Aker to establish AI infrastructure in Norway, valued at $6.2 billion. This project will involve the deployment of 100,000 NVIDIA GPUs. Additionally, Microsoft is set to build a data center in Texas, USA, boasting a power capacity of 240MW. This facility will house 104,000 NVIDIA GB300 chips, further solidifying Microsoft's position as a leader in AI infrastructure development.
