On October 14 (local time), Bharti Airtel, India's second-largest mobile network operator, unveiled a strategic alliance with Google. Their aim is to set up India's inaugural AI hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Bharti Airtel emphasized that this partnership is set to fuel the widespread integration of AI technology across India. It will not only enhance the nation's digital infrastructure but also streamline access for Indian businesses to Google's comprehensive suite of AI solutions and consumer services.

As per reports, the Visakhapatnam AI Hub represents a multifaceted investment endeavor. Google has earmarked an investment of roughly $15 billion from 2026 to 2030. This substantial funding will be directed towards constructing a data center operation system on a gigawatt scale. Furthermore, it will leverage submarine cable networks and clean energy support to propel India's AI workloads forward.
