Google Meet has unveiled a cutting-edge AI makeup filter feature, specifically designed for users who opt not to wear makeup before meetings. This move is aimed at bolstering its standing in the fiercely competitive video conferencing market. Within the 'Appearance' settings, users can access the 'Portrait Enhancement' section, where they have the option to choose from 12 distinct makeup effects. This functionality has been accessible since 2023. Remarkably, the virtual makeup stays consistent and exudes a more lifelike appearance, even as users move around during calls. By default, this feature is deactivated, granting users the flexibility to enable it at their convenience, either before or during video calls. Moreover, the system is intelligent enough to remember users' preferences. Since October 8, this feature has been progressively introduced on both mobile and web platforms, empowering users to project a more self-assured image across a variety of video conferencing scenarios.
