At the grand opening ceremony of the 2025 World Conference on Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation, China Agricultural University proudly presented the ShenNong Large Model 3.0. This model stands as the most comprehensive large-scale agricultural model in China, encompassing a wide array of agricultural disciplines and scenarios. Its unveiling marks a significant milestone in the advancement of agricultural artificial intelligence within the nation.
Previously, the ShenNong Large Model 1.0 laid the groundwork by enabling agricultural knowledge Q&A capabilities. Building upon this foundation, version 2.0 introduced multimodal functions and expanded its reach into various agricultural application domains. Version 3.0 takes a leap forward by focusing on 36 agricultural agents and introducing three distinct versions: 32B, 7B, and 1B. Notably, it achieves a 50% reduction in computational demands while maintaining key task performance losses below 1%. This breakthrough drives the evolution of agricultural AI from merely 'usable' to truly 'accessible and inclusive'.
During the launch event, the research team also introduced the 'ShenNong Large Model Agent Platform.' This platform aims to construct a thriving AI application ecosystem, deploying 36 agents to propel agricultural AI towards 'systemic intelligence.' Additionally, three specialized all-in-one machines made their debut, ensuring robust agricultural data security and adaptability to challenging environmental conditions.
Currently, the ShenNong Large Model has been successfully promoted across multiple regions, benefiting over 100,000 individuals. Looking ahead, the university remains committed to ongoing research, development, and upgrades of the model, with the goal of fostering its wider and more inclusive application in the agricultural sector.
