Anthropic, the creator behind the AI programming assistant Claude Code, has recently made an exciting announcement regarding the launch of a new 'plugin' feature, which is now available in the public beta phase. The newly introduced plugin system encompasses four fundamental components: 'Slash Commands', 'Subagents', 'Model Context Protocol Server', and 'Hooks'. Developers can effortlessly manage plugins, including installation, enabling, or disabling them, through the straightforward /plugin command.

To streamline plugin management for teams and communities, Anthropic has also rolled out a 'Plugin Marketplace'. Moreover, the company has curated a suite of plugins designed to cater to common programming scenarios.
