As reported by Cybernews, a critical open exposure vulnerability was identified in an unsecured Kafka Broker real-time data transmission system. This security lapse resulted in a substantial data breach impacting more than 400,000 users of the AI companion apps, namely 'Chattee Chat' and 'GiMe Chat'. The compromised data encompasses an extensive collection of over 43 million private dialogues exchanged between users and AI entities. Additionally, the breach exposed 600,000 images and videos, a significant portion of which contained inappropriate material. This incident has sparked intense apprehension within the industry regarding the robustness of data security measures in emotional AI applications.
