According to the most recent survey conducted by the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), almost one-fifth of American high school students have stated that either they themselves or someone within their social circle has embarked on a romantic relationship with artificial intelligence (AI). Furthermore, 42% of the students surveyed mentioned that they or individuals around them employ AI as a means of companionship.
