As reported by the Sports Examiner, the organizing committee of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics (LA28) has officially declared Google as the event's official cloud service provider and a premier founding partner. This partnership also encompasses collaboration with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and broadcaster NBCUniversal, heralding a significant milestone in LA28's digital readiness efforts.

Under the terms of the agreement, Google will harness its cutting-edge technologies, encompassing cloud infrastructure, the Gemini large language model, and the search engine's 'AI mode,' to deliver all-encompassing support across every facet of the event. This includes elevating the multi-platform viewing experience for NBC audiences, providing intelligent navigation and real-time scheduling solutions for the over 70,000 volunteers and staff members, and assisting in the management of training data for Team USA athletes.

Additionally, both entities intend to broaden the event's global reach through YouTube, thereby enhancing interactivity and accessibility for a worldwide audience. LA28 Chair Casey Wasserman emphasized that the partnership is geared towards crafting a 'technologically sophisticated digital Olympics,' tailored to meet the unique needs of diverse audience segments.
