On October 6 (local time), during the inaugural day of its DevDay 2025 developer event, OpenAI made a series of significant announcements. In his opening address, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman proclaimed that crafting AI applications has become a swift endeavor, now achievable in a matter of minutes. He emphasized that such a feat no longer necessitates a dedicated team; rather, a single, innovative idea is all it takes to swiftly bring an application to fruition.
According to Altman, ChatGPT has witnessed extraordinary growth within a mere two-year span. Its weekly user base has catapulted from 100 million to an impressive figure exceeding 800 million. Moreover, the developer community has doubled in size, expanding from 2 million to 4 million members. Simultaneously, the API platform's processing prowess has soared, jumping from 300 million tokens per minute to a staggering 6 billion tokens, representing a remarkable 20-fold surge.
