On Friday, U.S.-headquartered NVIDIA and Japan's Fujitsu inked a collaboration agreement, unveiling their in-depth partnership in the realm of artificial intelligence. Leveraging NVIDIA's state-of-the-art chip technology, the two entities will collaborate to develop intelligent robots and pioneering applications. NVIDIA's CEO, Jensen Huang, remarked that the AI industrial revolution is already underway, and Japan possesses the potential to spearhead global advancements in this domain. Spurred by this announcement, Fujitsu's stock price witnessed a 3% uptick on Friday. The collaboration aims to construct AI infrastructure, with the goal of establishing this framework in Japan by 2030. Initially targeting the Japanese market, the partnership envisions a potential global expansion in the future, harnessing NVIDIA's GPUs. While specific project details and investment magnitudes remain undisclosed, both parties hinted at potential collaborations with Yaskawa Electric in the AI robotics sector. Prior to this, the two firms had already collaborated in the AI field to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
