Just one week after being slapped with a lawsuit by Musk's xAI, which claimed that OpenAI had stolen trade secrets, OpenAI fired back with a formal response on October 3, 2025. The company informed that it had submitted a response and a motion to dismiss the case to the court. In a comprehensive manner, OpenAI refuted all the allegations and criticized Musk for misusing legal proceedings as a means of harassment.
OpenAI adopted a resolute stance in safeguarding its employees. It unequivocally declared that it would not be cowed by what it termed as "bullying tactics." The company stressed that the free flow of talent in the industry is not only legal but also in line with regulations. Moreover, it firmly denied having acquired any of xAI's trade secrets.
