On October 1, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, OpenAI is set to introduce a brand-new social media application, positioning itself as a formidable rival to TikTok, Google's YouTube, and Meta. By harnessing the power of OpenAI's AI video generator, users will have the ability to craft high-definition short videos complete with audio, simply by entering text prompts. Additionally, they'll be able to upload their own short clips and seamlessly integrate them into virtual worlds generated by Sora. This is achieved by merely describing their creative concepts, styles, and desired scenes. The platform will foster interaction among users, enabling them to watch and comment on each other's creations. The updated iteration, Sora 2, will feature a swipe-based browsing experience akin to that of TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, underscoring OpenAI's lofty ambitions in the realm of AI-generated video content. Initially, OpenAI intends to roll out the app in the United States and Canada, exclusively through the Apple App Store and on an invitation-only basis.
