Westpac has announced plans to recruit 350 bankers in a bid to bolster its business lending operations, with ambitions to further integrate AI technology into its services. The Sydney-headquartered bank disclosed on Tuesday that it had successfully onboarded 135 bankers during the first half of 2025 and aims to add another 350 professionals by the end of the 2027 fiscal year. Under the new CEO's leadership, the bank is significantly enhancing its commercial banking segment by streamlining transaction processes and deploying instant AI assistants to support customers.
