On August 25, Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng convened with a delegation headed by Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Investment, to explore collaboration prospects across various sectors including economy, trade, green energy, and technology. Mayor Gong Zheng extended a warm welcome to Saudi Arabian enterprises, encouraging their participation in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) and fostering deeper ties in domains such as the digital economy, green and low-carbon initiatives, and artificial intelligence. The Saudi delegation underscored the strong friendship between their country and China, expressing a keen interest in bolstering bilateral trade and investment through platforms like the CIIE, while also expanding cooperative endeavors in green energy, aerospace, and shipbuilding.
