The latest OpenSearch version 3.2 has been officially unveiled, introducing an array of new features that significantly bolster search performance and observability, particularly in generative AI contexts. This iteration brings remarkable improvements to search efficiency and scalability, adds support for search_after queries, and optimizes query performance for time-series and numerical data. Furthermore, OpenSearch 3.2 extends GPU support and introduces new vector types, including FP16, byte, and binary, aimed at minimizing memory usage and refining search quality. In terms of observability, the Trace Analytics plugin now integrates OpenTelemetry, further enriching trace analysis capabilities.
