The Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea announced on Wednesday its plan to procure over 35,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) within the next two years, with the objective of bolstering the nation's artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure. Minister Bae Kyung-hoon revealed to the National Assembly that the government's ambitious long-term target is to attain a total of 50,000 GPUs by the year 2030.
