The reason for the ban, however, remained unclear as Grok offered several contradictory explanations. Initially, it claimed that the screenshot of the ban was a forgery. Subsequently, in an English-language response, Grok first acknowledged that the ban was due to "hate speech involving anti-Semitism" but then contradicted itself by asserting that it was banned for "highlighting the genocide committed by Israel and the United States in Gaza." Musk, in a mocking tweet, described this situation as "shooting oneself in the foot" and attributed Grok's confusing explanations to "stupid mistakes," suggesting that the chatbot was uncertain about the actual reason for its suspension.
