On June 12, SMIC made an announcement stating that it had concluded the payment process for acquiring a 49% equity interest in Semiconductor Manufacturing International (Beijing) Corporation, with all pertinent transfer procedures now completed. Consequently, SMIC Northern has transitioned into a fully-owned subsidiary of SMIC. The total transaction value amounted to RMB 40.6 billion, setting a record as the largest asset acquisition via share issuance on the STAR Market to date. With full ownership of SMIC Northern, SMIC is poised to further refine the strategic placement of its 12-inch wafer fabrication facility in Beijing, streamline management and supply chain expenditures, bolster internal cooperation, and elevate its overall market competitiveness.
