Spurred on by the High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) craze, SK Hynix has posted its highest-ever quarterly operating profit and is now contemplating raising procurement prices for its suppliers. Lately, several of its top-tier equipment suppliers have put forward requests for price hikes in the range of 3%-4%. In response, SK Hynix has asked these suppliers to submit relevant materials for a price adjustment review. Industry insiders point out that price increases from equipment manufacturers are relatively uncommon, and the industry generally expects that the profits of large enterprises will trickle down and benefit their partners.
