Since the fourth quarter of 2025, the expansion of new wafer production capacity within the silicon carbide industry has seen a deceleration. Nevertheless, the three primary application sectors—automotive, photovoltaic energy storage, and charging infrastructure—continue to flourish, propelling a swift surge in demand for domestically manufactured SiC MOSFET components. Concurrently, burgeoning demand in nascent domains such as consumer electronics and artificial intelligence (AI), along with anticipated semiconductor price hikes, has spurred end-terminal manufacturers to ramp up their stockpiles. This trend has, in turn, further invigorated the silicon carbide sector. Looking to the future, top-tier producers of silicon carbide substrates and epitaxial wafers have embarked on a fresh wave of capacity expansion, ushering in a substantial influx of new orders for upstream equipment providers.
