The Nasdaq Composite Index climbed 1.39% in early trading, the S&P 500 Index rose 0.85%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.36%. Technology stocks staged a collective rebound, with Nvidia shares surging over 2% and Micron Technology shares jumping over 8%. Intel's shares experienced a significant surge of over 11% after Google placed an order for more than 3 million Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). Corning shares rose over 8% following a multi-billion-dollar fiber optic deal with Amazon. Wolfspeed shares surged over 9% after entering into a partnership with GE Aerospace to advance high-voltage silicon carbide applications. Marvell Technology shares also surged over 10%.
