According to Gizmodo, Meta is secretly developing a consumer-grade AI tool codenamed 'Hatch,' with plans to complete internal testing by the end of June. This move comes after its failed acquisition of OpenClaw and due to OpenClaw's high barriers for non-technical users. Hatch aims to create a simplified version with enhanced proactive decision-making capabilities, an expanded context-processing window, strengthened cross-conversation memory, and optimized response methods and external tool-calling logic. Meta is also advancing its Instagram AI shopping agent, set to launch in Q4, directly competing with TikTok Shop.
