On March 12, it was disclosed by reliable sources that Yu Bowen, previously the post-training lead for the Qwen (Qianwen) large-scale model at Alibaba's Tongyi Laboratory, has been recruited by ByteDance. He will assume the role of post-training head for the visual models and multimodal interaction team within the Seed team. Following the completion of his Ph.D. in 2022, Yu Bowen joined Alibaba and swiftly became a pivotal member of the Qianwen team. However, he departed from the company due to organizational restructuring and divergences in technical philosophies.
