This move comes after Alibaba's Tongyi Lab underwent an organizational reshuffle in early March, resulting in the Qwen team being split up and the departure of several technical experts. With his extensive technical expertise, Yu Bowen previously spearheaded the development of the Qwen series Chat models. Now, under the leadership of Wu Yonghui, the ByteDance Seed team has continued to iterate on relevant models. ByteDance's acquisition of key talent from Tongyi underscores the significance that leading companies attach to post-training technology.
