According to 36Kr, WeChat is in the process of developing its own in-house AI model. This model has already accomplished the foundational capability development stage and has been assigned an internal code name. It is anticipated to make its public debut in 2026. Once launched, this model will be seamlessly integrated into the WeChat Mini Program ecosystem. It will not only bolster the development of AI agents but also delve into application scenarios that are deeply intertwined with the social ecosystem. For instance, it aims to enhance efficiency and elevate the user experience within the WeChat platform. Moreover, Tencent is pushing forward with a highly confidential AI assistant project. The plan is to conduct gray-box testing in the middle of the year and subsequently roll it out to its 1.4 billion monthly active users in the third quarter. This move will enable effortless connectivity with millions of Mini Programs, effectively transforming WeChat into a comprehensive digital lifestyle portal.
