On March 11, 2026, Tencent Cloud made an announcement stating that, commencing March 13, its agent development platform will implement adjustments to the billing approaches for select models. Mainstream third-party models including GLM 5, MiniMax 2.5, and Kimi 2.5 will cease their complimentary public beta testing and transition into the official commercial billing phase. Concurrently, the pricing for the Hunyuan series models will also undergo an upward revision.
To be more specific, the input price for Tencent HY2.0 Instruct will escalate from 0.0008 yuan per thousand Tokens to 0.004505 yuan, while the output price will rise from 0.002 yuan to 0.01113 yuan. Similarly, the input price for Tencent HY2.0 Think will jump from 0.001 yuan to 0.0053 yuan, and the output price will increase from 0.004 yuan to 0.0212 yuan.
Users who have already procured platform packages will still be able to utilize these packages to offset a portion of the costs.
This price adjustment is a consequence of the advancements in technologies like generative AI and agents. These technologies have triggered an exponential increase in the utilization of large models on public clouds, resulting in a sharp surge in computing power demand and a heightened need for hardware such as GPUs. Moreover, the escalating costs of upstream hardware and energy have exerted pressure on the pricing of cloud services for end-users.
