Meta has unveiled four new AI chips, all part of its in-house developed Meta Training and Inference Accelerator (MTIA) series. To meet AI computing demands and avoid over-reliance on a single supplier, Meta plans to simultaneously utilize commercial GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD alongside its self-developed chips. The four chips, namely MTIA 300, MTIA 400, MTIA 450, and MTIA 500, are designed for different segments of Meta's AI operations, covering scenarios from ranking and recommendation models to high-end inference.
